Tasting Notes
This wine displays aromas of bright red fruits, subtle florals and delicate spice. A fruit driven palate is balanced with fine texture and a crisp dry finish. All estate-grown, the grapes are hand-picked at just the point of ripeness to capture the natural vibrancy of the fruit.

Vineyard & Winemaking
The fruit was sorted before pressing as whole bunches. Hard-press fractions were fermented separately before blending back to add colour and texture. After blending the wine was allowed to age for a short time on yeast lees before filtration and bottling.
Vintage 2020 was characterised by a long, hot and dry summer in Northland. Perfect weather conditions allowed our estate grown Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc to be hand-picked at the ideal balance of sugar, acidity, and flavour. -
Vintage Notes
Next time you join us at The Landing make sure you arrive by boat. Making the turn into the protected cove of Wairoa Bay you’ll see The Boathouse. The original woolshed is now where we entertain guests all summer long.
The Boathouse Rosé is firm favourite at The Landing, we always keep two bottles in the chiller because one always disappears far too quickly. The delicate dash of rose petal red comes from the sun-soaked red fruit across the vineyard. Completely dry with delicious flavours of rose water, lychees, white stone fruit and just a dash of strawberries and cream.
The Landing Vineyard sits above The Boathouse on the Purerua Peninsula has been farmed for over a century, the vines have been selectively planted on the dry north facing slopes that naturally moderate vigour ensuring high quality, well balanced wines.
