It has been a very busy time in the vineyard and winery and with such a hot and dry summer the fruit has been ripening rapidly. The vineyard team worked tirelessly to get bird nets to cover the grapes through the summer season in time with the rate at which the fruit was ripening.

The first pick was on the 25th of January and was the earliest ever. With rigorous picking again on the 3rd and 4th of February, the team managed to get approximately 20% of the Chardonnay into the winery. Since then, the first processing has been smooth and the quality excellent, which reflects the hard work the vineyard team has done through the whole growing season.

The start of vintage is the busiest and most intense time of the year for winegrowers and it is a feeling of satisfaction as the vineyard cycle ends and excitement as the new wines come to life in the winery.
