Bay of Islands The Landing
Clearly expressive of place, this Bay of Islands wine offers a complex aroma of citrus, stonefruit, and spice characteristics. The palate has depth and intensity with mineral notes and a powerful finish.
The Landing Chardonnay is made from hand-picked estate-grown fruit, which is whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barriques. After 11 months in oak, the wine is blended to tank to finish ageing.
Shiny bright lemon-gold in colour, medium viscosity (legs.) The nose is intense & layered with citrus, peach & apricot fruit aromas underpinned with nutty spicy oak notes. On the palate there are ripe stone-fruit flavours, juicy green apple acidity & complex silky / creamy / grippy textures. A gorgeous wine with lots of aging potential. Excellent.
