Vineyard & Winemaking
This vintage was made from estate-grown hand-picked fruit, of which a portion was de-stemmed and given extended skin contact, with the balance gently whole-bunch pressed. Part of the blend was fermented in old French oak barriques.
Harvested from a mix of clone 457 and Barrie vines growing in the greywacke clay soils of the Purerua Peninsula where The Landing vineyard is located, the grapes for this vintage were hand-picked in February following a warm, dry growing season. -

Hand-picked in exacting lots over several days from late February to mid-March following a warm, dry growing season made for a bone dry expression of Pinot Gris. On the nose the wine offers lovely subtle pear, cinnamon spice and a floral, jasmine scent.

The Landing Vineyard on the Purerua Peninsula has been thoughtfully farmed for over a century, the young crumbly clay soils these vines have been selectively planted on naturally moderate vigour ensuring high quality, well balanced wines.
