Tasting Notes
The 2019 Vintage of The Landing Chardonnay has opened the window to just how great Northland Chardonnay from our site can be. This perfect growing season produced an austere, elegant and refined style. Attractive citrus and stone fruit aromatics sit perfectly with a hint of nutty-spice. On the palate, the wine has a full profile with more white stone fruit and spice. A racy stony minerality creates a lovely long finish with drying tannins that just beg for your glass to be filled again.

Vineyard & Winemaking
The Landing Chardonnay is made from hand-picked estate-grown fruit, which is whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barriques. After 11 months in oak, the wine is blended to tank to finish ageing.
Harvested from a mix of Chardonnay clones B95, 548, and UCD15 vines growing in the greywacke clay soils of the Purerua Peninsula, the 2019 vintage came from an outstanding growing season. The grapes for this Chardonnay were hand-picked between February 16 and March 8.
Back To Our Wines
Warmed by Northland’s long summers, dried by the sea breeze and nurtured in ancient clay and sandstone soils, The Landing produces beautifully crafted wines.
